“Well, I like to drink beer, hang out in the bars
Don't like busses and I don't like cars
Don't like presidents, don't like stars
Never had stitches, but I do got scars…” #bangertrack
Blaze is an American singer-songwriter and a legend in the Texas outlaw country music scene during the 1970s and 1980s. Blaze left an indelible mark on the music industry with his heartfelt and introspective songwriting. Known for his raw, soulful voice and poignant lyrics, Foley's music often delved into themes of love, loss, and the human condition. Some of his notable songs include "If I Could Only Fly" and "Clay Pigeons," which have been covered by prominent artists, (Merle Haggard, John Prine and more) further solidifying his influence on the folk and country genres. Tragically, Foley's life was cut short at the age of 39 when he was shot and killed in 1989. Despite his untimely death, Blaze Foley's legacy endures through his timeless songs, which continue to resonate with fans and fellow musicians, ensuring his place in the pantheon of American singer-songwriters.
